Management and Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees decides on all matters of fundamental or particular importance and the budget. The Chair is the member of the Berlin Senate responsible for cultural affairs. It also includes a representative of the Senate Department for Justice, a representative of the highest federal authority responsible for culture, as well as the Chair and another member of the Foundation's Advisory Board.
The management consists of the Director of the Memorial. They are appointed by the Board of Trustees. They manage the day-to-day business of the Foundation and are bound by the resolutions and instructions of the Board of Trustees. Since September 2019, this post has been filled by Dr Helge Heidemeyer.
