The foundation

The Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Memorial researches the history of the prison site and provides information about political imprisonment and persecution in the GDR through exhibitions, publications and events.

    A memorial site was established in Hohenschönhausen as early as 1994 and has been a foundation under public law since 2000.
