3D tour

Our 3D tour provides a virtual insight into the former Stasi remand centre. It was developed especially for school groups and young people, but also gives other interested parties an introduction to the history of the remand centre in Hohenschönhausen. The content was conceived and produced as part of a project together with vocational school students from the OSZ Communications, Information and Media Technology Berlin.

In the virtual tour, you can navigate independently through the digitally reconstructed cells, corridors and interrogation rooms of the new prison building. Contextualising explanatory videos, interviews with contemporary witnesses, 3D objects and historical documents as well as photos explain the historical site, the system of political imprisonment and provide an insight into the perspective of those affected.
