Guided Tours

Indoor public tours in German start daily every hour between 10 am and 4 pm. The maximum participant capacity per public tour is 20 visitors.

English tours daily at 10:40 am, 12:40 pm and at 2:40 pm.

Every Wednesday at 1 pm indoor public tour in German including the prison hospital.

Every first Sunday of a month a guided tour in Russian will take place.

The permanent exhibition "Inhaftiert in Hohenschönhausen" is accessible during our opening hours between 9 am und 6 pm. The exhibition is free of charge.

An online-registration for a guided tour is recommended.

Corona information for guided tours

Wearing a medical mask indoors is mandatory. We recommend wearing a FFP2-mask. Staying outside wearing a mask isn't necessary.

But please keep distance to other people.

The freelance journalist documented openly political persecution and injustice in the GDR in both press and radio in the 1950s. He was one of several hundred people who were abducted by the Ministry of State Security in West Berlin.
