Restricted Tour Routes starting July 2019

Dear Visitors,

In order to preserve and improve the historical site, the memorial will be undergoing restoration and reconstruction work between July 2019 and December 2020. 
However, guided tours will continue to take place.

Please note our new times for guided tours as well as our new restrictions on group sizes.

Visiting the memorial is possible only with a guided tour. However, the exhibitions are free of charge and accessible to visitors during our opening hours.

Public tours in German:

Monday to Friday: 11am, 1pm and 3pm
Saturday/Sunday: 10am to 4pm, every hour

Public tours in English:

Monday to Friday: 11.30am and 2.30pm
Saturday/Sunday: 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm

Public tour in Russian:

Sunday: 2pm

The maximum participant capacity per public tour is 50 visitors on weekdays and 75 visitors on weekends.

Fricke Karl Wilhelm Karl Wilhelm Fricke
The freelance journalist documented openly political persecution and injustice in the GDR in both press and radio in the 1950s. He was one of several hundred people who were abducted by the Ministry of State Security in West Berlin.
