Arno Drefke

Born 1934 in Wittstock, Arno Drefke had been arrested by the Ministry of State Security at the age of 19. He was a member of the Bund Deutscher Jugend, an anti-communist youth association.

In 1953, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for allegations of espionage and connections to West-Berlin offices. After ten years spent in prison in Cottbus, Brandenburg, and the Stasi labour camp in Berlin-Hohenschönhausen, he was finally released.
