Will there still be an introductory film before the tour?
During the restoration work, the film rooms A-D will be used as seminar rooms. From 2021 onwards, a new introductory film will be shown in these rooms as part of the guided tours.

Do I have to register as an individual visitor or as a small group (max. 6 persons) or buy tickets beforehand?
The number of participants per tour is limited to a maximum of 25 people and pre-registration or online booking is recommended.

As a single visitor can a join a tour in another language than German, English or Russian?
We are sorry but momentarily we offer only these language options. Information about the schedule right here.

How much time does a tour take?
You should plan a good two hours for your visit. Please plan for it.

We are a small group of less than seven people. Can we book an individual tour nonetheless?
Of course, you can book a tour just for your small group. The fee would be 100 Euro for adults, 80 Euro as a reduced entrance fee and 25 Euro for school students. More information right here.

I would like to book a tour for my group (of students). What is the procedure for that?
First of all, please call the visitor centre at Tel. 0049 (0)30 986082-30 so we can arrange a date for your visit. Then we kindly ask you to fill in the registration form.

How much does my group have to pay for the guided tour?
We offer three price ranges depending on the size of your group:
school students 25 Euro, university students or handicapped people 80 Euro, normal fee 100 Euro
These fees are to be payed by group.
Please note:
1 to 25 persons are one group, 25 Euro/80 Euro/100 Euro
26 to 50 persons are two groups, 50 Euro/160 Euro/200 Euro
51 to 75 persons are three groups, 75 Euro/240 Euro/300 Euro -
How can I pay for my visit?
A payment is possible in cash and with EC card. The following credit cards are accepted: Mastercard, Visa, UnionPay, JCB, Diners Club/Discover, Maestro, Visa Electron, V Pay.

For which time can I book a guided tour for my group?
From March to July and September to October you can book a guided tour between 8:45 am and 6:30 pm
In the other months guided tours are possible between 8:45 am and 4:30 pm.
We offer bookings at 15-minute intervals. Please call our visitor center under tel. 0049 (0)30 986082-30.

I have sent you a reservation by the internet form but have not received a confirmation yet. Why is that?
We get a lot of booking requests on a daily basis. A confirmation can take up to two weeks. Thank you for your understanding.
Booking wishes for July 2017 and onwards will take more time.

Is your permanent exhibition for free?
There is no fee for the permanent exhibition "Imprisoned in Hohenshönhausen". Audio-Guides in six languages are available and also for free.
There is no fee for the permanent exhibition "Involuntary Community. The Labor Commandos of Prisoners in Hohenschönhausen" is free of charge. Multimedia tablets are available in German and English and also for free.

Is a visit of the museum barrier free?
Users of wheelchairs and walking frames are kindly asked to call 030/ 98 60 82 - 30 to organize tours through the historical buildings.
The permanent exhibition "Imprisoned in Hohenschönhausen" however is accessible without any barriers.

Is there parking space in front of the museum?
Yes, there is. There are eight parking lots for busses and enough space for cars.
Please note: We kindly ask you to point out to bus drivers to use the marked parking spaces for busses only and to not leave the engine running needlessly. Due to residents‘ complaints public authorities supervise traffic regulations on a
regular basis. In case of infringement traffic violation fines are to be payed.
